Here you’ll find the most frequently asked questions (and answers) about the Water AREA, the unique action water park at AREA 47, featuring trend sports like blobbing and classic fun activities like slides & jumping.

General

Do I have to book my ticket for the Water AREA in advance?

You can book your ticket for the Water AREA online, or you can simply get it directly at the Water AREA ticket counter.

Is the Water AREA open in bad weather?

Yes, our activities take place in all weather conditions, unless there are safety concerns (such as thunderstorms or force majeure). In safety-critical situations, the Water AREA will be evacuated. However, the Water AREA is normally open during rain since you will get wet here anyway!

Do I have to pay the Water AREA entrance fee if I don’t want to use any of the attractions?

Yes, because we cannot verify if you are really just lounging around. However, you can relax on our sun terrace at the Lakeside Restaurant, where you have a great view of the Water AREA.

 

Can the volleyball courts be reserved? If so, where?

Our Beach Sports courts (volleyball and soccer) can be reserved directly at the entrance of the Water AREA ticket counter.

Are volleyballs and soccer balls available for rent?

Balls can be borrowed from us for a deposit (cash €30 or a valid photo ID) on an hourly basis.

What is the minimum age for the activities?

Each activity has different age restrictions. Here you can find an overview of the minimum age for each activity. The minimum age is based on legal regulations that we must adhere to, and unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions.

 

Blobbing

Is there an age restriction for the Blobbing?

All attractions in the Water AREA have different age restrictions. You can find a detailed overview here. Blobbing is generally available for those aged 12 and older.

Do you receive protective equipment?

Yes, you will be provided with a life jacket and a helmet. Additionally, Blobbing is supervised by our Water AREA guides. Safety first!

Slip ‘n’ Slide

Is there an age restriction for the Slip’n’Slide?

All attractions in the Water AREA have different age restrictions. You can find a detailed overview here. The Slip’n’Slide is generally available for those aged 16 and older.

 

How fast do you go on the Slip’n’Slide?

On the Slip’n’Slide, you can be catapulted into the water at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

Do you receive protective equipment?

Yes, you will be provided with a life jacket and a helmet. Additionally, the slide is supervised by our Water AREA guides. Safety first!

Jump & Slide

Are all slides suitable for every age?

Our slides have different age restrictions. You can find a detailed overview here.

How high are your diving boards?

Our platforms are at heights of 3m, 5m, 7.5m, 10m, and go up to 27.5m.

Can I jump from heights greater than 10 meters?

In principle, you can only jump from heights greater than 10 meters if you are training with a club and notify us via email at info@area47.at 48 hours before your training, including a completed risk acknowledgment and participant information. You can find the necessary documents here. If this is your first time jumping with us, you may need to demonstrate your skills from the 10-meter platform

Cannonball

Is there an age restriction for the Cannonball?

All attractions in the Water AREA have different age restrictions. You can find a detailed overview here. The Cannonball is generally available for ages 13 and up.

How does the Cannonball work?

There’s a sensor behind you that only activates when you lean back against it. You also need to press both shoulder buttons at the same time. Many people make the mistake of leaning forward. Just lean back and enjoy the flight!

Splash Track

Is there an age restriction for the Splash Track?

All attractions in the Water AREA have different age restrictions. You can find a detailed overview here. The Splash Track is generally available for children aged 6 and above.

Is the Splash Track open in bad weather?

Yes! In fact, rain can make it even more fun, as the track becomes extra slippery and challenging. The Water AREA remains open in rain, but in cases of dangerous weather, like thunderstorms or severe conditions, the area will be evacuated for safety.
