Climbing

Here you’ll find the most frequently asked questions (and helpful answers) about climbing at AREA 47 – from the high ropes course, Flying Fox & Mega Swing, bungy jumping, and valley swing to climbing and bouldering.

General

By when do I have to book my climbing tour?

We recommend booking your climbing tour in advance. Weekends and summer days in July and August are especially popular and fill up quickly. The sooner you book, the better. If you only want to visit the climbing tower, you don’t need to reserve in advance and can get a ticket at the Water AREA ticket counter.

Can the number of participants be increased or decreased at short notice?

In the case of a last-minute cancellation, we must adhere to our terms and conditions, and therefore cancellation fees will apply. However, if there are still enough available spots, adding participants is definitely possible.

Do you have to go through the high ropes course first to reach the Flying Fox or Mega Swing?

No, don’t worry. There is a separate access path on the other side of the bridge. However, all participants must cross a narrow, suspended walkway to reach the starting point.

Can you take items like a phone, backpack, etc., on the tour?

It’s better not to! You’ll need your hands free for the activities, and personal belongings often fall out of pockets and can get damaged. Just store them in our lockers at the Climbing Base or the Outdoor Base. Important medications can, of course, be taken along—just let your guide know.

What is the minimum age for the activities?
